Analog trackers
for Trapper-Keeper glory
Print, decorate, and track with tangible satisfaction.
Post to your wall, collect in a binder.
Your data is yours & it’s delightful.
Cal for tracking progress (ah the glorious feel of a gold star). One goal TBD by you (e.g., walk, drink 2L water, meditate). Consider it cardio when it's mostly about your heart & lungs (run, bike, dance) and strength when your muscles are sore (weights, pull-ups, barre). 'Twas both? Give yourself a big ole X. Stretch is about mobility (yoga, foam roll, animal flow).
Cal for warmer months! Relevant content without the HTTP cookies...
Strength-training journals tend to be lists of numbers, and while it's useful to track what we last lifted, physical & mental feels give us the full picture. Scan bod & mind to note things as soon as they start (e.g., "my calves are really tight" or "slept terribly because of work stress"), reflect on what got us through the shittiest reps, or any intentions we want to set for the week. Yes, this is what happens when a writer gets into fitness. Woot nuanced records!
For me, doing what feels good is simple yet complicated. I keep these reminders of realist/realest priorities on my wall, because sometimes I really do need to tell my future self to go the fuck outside and get some fresh air.
